Project SFB632/D1: Linguistic Database for Information Structure: Annotation and Retrieval
In this project, we developed the linguistic database ANNIS for querying and visualizing deeply-annotated data. It makes use of the XML interchange format PAULA to import annotations from various annotation tools. The database hosts annotations on word, sentence and discourse level.

Project SUMMaR: Automatic Text Summarization (2004-2007) The project's focus was on the combination of rule-based linguistic and statistical methods; our prototype integrates a series of modules, which communicate via an XML interchange format.

Project Pargram: Parallel (LFG) Grammar Projects
We developed a large-scale German LFG grammar, focussing on linguistically-motivated LFG analyses as well as broad coverage. Further research topics included modularity and documentation of the grammar code, and grammar-engineering issues in general.
Project TIGER: Linguistic Interpretation of a German Corpus
The goal of this project was to create a large, high-quality German treebank (50,000 sentences), including a user-friendly query tool (TIGERSearch). We also investigated new ways as to (semi-)automatically annotate syntax trees.
